Water Problems

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

 Friends,

Every team, individual and community faces challenges, and University is no different. In our present challenge, the staff is currently having to work hard to juggle logistics and rise to the occasion.

We have so many requests for baptisms that we are having to plan weeks and even months out!

Some challenges have you thanking and praising God. I am not sure there is a better indicator of community faithfulness and Spirit movement than people being drawn to the waters of baptism. I am excited that so many families and so many individuals are coming forward, declaring their faith and entering the family of God through baptism.

We believe that baptism marks us as God’s people and initiates us into God’s mighty act of salvation in Jesus Christ. Like the ordinary bread we share in communion, it is in ordinary water that we are washed, claimed and marked as God’s people. A permanent and singular event, baptism is like a tattoo for our souls. It joins us to Jesus in such a way that his life and death shape and define our own. It is a beautiful and holy thing.

I hope to see you in worship soon…there is a really good chance we will be celebrating another addition to the people and story of God through baptism here at University.

If you have any questions about baptism or would like to talk about being baptized, let’s talk.  It is one of my favorite conversations to have.

Blessings,

Pastor Ben
