Church Family,
I would like to introduce myself. Many of you may not know me, but my name is Alyssa Carroll. I’m the Communication Director here at University, and over the past 3 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping to facilitate communication for our ministry areas and the church as a whole. If you haven’t noticed, we made a big change this past weekend!
Over the last 2 years, the community of University has gathered. We have gathered in large groups and small groups to talk about who University is called to be in and for the community of Northwest San Antonio. We gathered and made decisions about what words best convey our mission and vision in this place and on this dirt. These multitudes of gatherings culminated in the creation of a new logo and brand for University, a brand that would represent us and our vision for the future of University.
What has been clear is that God has been present in these conversations. In every gathering of people, He was there. Through every prayer said, He was there. Through every email sent, He was there. Through every decision made, He was there, guiding us and calling us to be the church at the corner of Vance Jackson and De Zavala that Builds Bridges to Christ, Community and Compassion.
Folks, I’m excited about our future, and my prayer is this: Let us all continue to gather as the people of University because if we do, God will surely be there.
