Project Transformation Rio Texas

Do you enjoy reading with and to children?  Then Project Transformation is for you!  Reading volunteers read one-on-one with the children at three sites.  We will be serving children at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church and St. Paul United Methodist Church in San Antonio, and First United Methodist Church in Boerne.

Reading volunteers read one-on-one with the children from 10:00am-12:00pm.  You can volunteer once a day, for an entire week, or just a day here and a day there.  Whatever fits your schedule.  There is an orientation/training held from 9:00am-10:00am on the first day that you serve.  Reading volunteers are required to have a current background check on file.  If you do not have a check on file with University UMC please complete the form and submit at this link: http://riotexas.org/background-checks/?rq=background%20check.  If you are unsure if your check is still current contact Richard Holt (richard@theu.org)

To sign up to volunteer, please visit http://projecttransformation.org/riotx/volunteer-job-listings/. This page has all of our volunteer job listings. Simply click on the opportunity you wish to volunteer for, fill out the necessary information on the form, and you are signed up!

We, University, have signed up to serve dinner to the interns on June 2, July 17, and July 28 here on campus .  Contact Richard Holt if you are interested in serving on the meal team.

Project Transformation’s mission is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support underserved children and families, and connect churches to communities in need.  For more information about this amazing program visit http://projecttransformation.org/riotx/who-we-are/
