Greater Mercy Continues

Greater Mercy ministries continues to provide assistance to families at Christmas.

We provided a Christmas surprise for 25 families from Locke-Hill Elementary on December 9th as part of our Greater Mercy Ministry.  The families were selected by the Counselor and Principle based on financial need.  Each of the families were given gift cards based on the number of children in their family and whether they had receive assistance in the previous years.  The families were given gift cards to HEB, CVS Drug Store, Payless Shoes, Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Home Goods, and Toys-R-Us.  This was to ensure that families had food, gifts, clothing, shoes, and access to common healthcare needs over the holidays.  Additionally, each family received two cakes from the Achiever’s School fundraiser and an invitation to our Christmas programing.   In all, we provided $17,025.00 of assistance to help 25 families have a Merry Christmas.

We saw a lot of big smiles and happy tears as we met with the families and explained what they were getting.  There were mothers weeping as they told us that without this gift they would not have been able to provide anything for their children at Christmas.  It was amazing to see the joy and sense of relief in the faces of mothers that would now be able to provide a Christmas that their children will remember for a long, long time.

Locke-Hill Elementary thanks you for your amazing generosity!
