The United Methodist Volunteer In Missions (UMVIM) Haiti Response Plan staff has been working with the Eglise Methodiste d’Haiti (EMH, the Methodist Church of Haiti) to host volunteer teams to address the humanitarian needs and priority projects of the EMH. The EMH in partnership with the General Board of Global Ministries, has developed priorities for rebuilding ministries in Haiti. Schools are the first priority.
Our July 2014 trip, scheduled for July 22-30, will involve basic construction and debris removal as directed by the UMVIM coordinator. Additionally, we will conduct some type of evangelism activity. (VBS, Bible study, camp) We will receive our assignment approximately six weeks prior to our departure date. For more information about this trip or past outreach efforts in support of the victims of the earthquake in Haiti contact one of the team leaders below.
