Confirmation 2016

Parents of Confirmation Students,

Confirmation Retreat is Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11. This is an important covenant forming retreat where we will begin the Confirmation process by covering 2 lessons. Lessons will be continued, for students and parents, on Sunday mornings from 9:30am-10:45am in the Student Worship Center beginning on Sunday September 18.

Here are some important things to know for next weekend’s retreat:

  • Students need to arrive at the church on Friday, September 9 at 5:30pm at the North Campus Café.
  • They need to bring a sack dinner to eat while in the vans. NO CHICK FIL A due to peanut allergies.
  • We will be traveling in vans to Camp Zephyr near Mathis, TX, which is about a 2 hour drive.
  • Pay attention to the weather forecast and click here for the Packing List.

We will return to the church on Sunday morning, September 11, in time for 11:00am worship, and we will all attend worship together on the north side of the campus. After worship is over, the retreat has ended, and your students (and their luggage and medications) can be picked up in the Student Worship Center.

If your student has medications they need to take, please drop off the meds and Medication Form (click here) in the Student Ministry office by noon Thursday 9/8.  Please bring only the amount of medication (in original prescription bottle) your student will need during the trip.

If your Confirmation students has not turned in the New Member Information Form please click here, complete the form, scan and email to or drop it off at our office. If we have not received an updated Medical Information Form since August 22nd please click here complete and sign that form and email it to or bring it by our office by Tuesday, September 6.

Friday night also includes our Dinner for Parents at 6pm in the Student Worship Center. This will be the start of Confirmation parents. Parents are expected to attend as they will be covering the same material that the students will be covering while on the retreat. The dinner is family friendly and the cost is $5 per person. Please RSVP by clicking here by Thursday 9/8.

We are greatly looking forward to this time with you and your students! Confirmation is an important step in the faith life of students and families. We are your partners in this and are open to questions and comments. If you have any, please feel free to contact us. Lastly, please be in prayer for the retreat and for the confirmation class as a whole. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance for our leaders, for safety on the trip, and for God to speak to the hearts and minds of the students.
